THE ROBINSON FAMILY REUNION
Our Robinson Family Reunion began circa 1920. It was held on Easter Sunday every year. It was held by “the river”, I’m just not sure where the river was. It is held now at the Shandon Park, on the Palm Sunday (Sunday before Easter). People start showing up about 10:00 A.M. and we eat promptly at 12:00 noon. It is always a potluck. There is always plenty to eat. Usually someone will bring a ham and a couple of tri-tips. Homemade ice cream is always on the menu.
The family members join together in the clubhouse. The story goes that several early family members built the clubhouse and donated it to the park with the stipulation we could hold the reunion there every year.
The Robinson Family consisted of seven sisters and two brothers. The reunion sometimes is referred to as the Sharp Family Reunion. The reason for that is G-G-grandma Robinson’s maiden name was Sharp and there are some Sharp cousins that attend also.
